Music B36

CH1 Blogpost

1: I want to be a musician because frankly music is all I know. Since i was a kid music is the one thing that I've always stuck with and has always stuck with me. I believe music is the way I was meant to leave my mark on the world. With my deep passion for the art I believe I wouldn't work a day in my life.

2: As a producer "making it" looks different as most successful producers only live in upper middle class after success. Personally making it to me means I have enough income to live comfortably with my family and I can work in my own private studio. Receiving a Publishing deal is a goal that also comes to mind when I think about "making it"

3: In 1 year I see myself with multiple placements and working with at least 2 artists to develop. In 5 years Id like to be starting an entertainment company running live sound and also doing production work possibly in Seattle, Washington. After 10 Years Id like my company to be able to stand on its own so I can retreat to a compound with my family and farm off the land, Still doing music in my private studio on the land only inviting special guests to it. Finally in 26 years Id hope to be fully retired being a Rick Ruben type producer where I appear randomly and disappear just the same still making hits just in my own way.

1: Creatively id like the title of A&R or Artist Development, Currently I'm a music producer and entrepreneur. Being an A&R is apart of my marathon goals as it would give me the freedom to work with who I want when I want.

2:My team consists of myself as a producer, my brother in law Dycelus in the role of graphic designer, and my cousin Mike as an engineer. Im missing a photographer and videographer but these positions can be filled by scouting online or learning myself.

1: My Fans are between the ages of 18 and 30 and mostly male. According to data my fans are in the U.S and Canada. My fans like underground rap and hiphop. My audience is mostly producers and artists.

2: my list of songs is as follows.

"Is it really you" by Loathe - The Synths combined with the downtrend guitars leading to dark emotional songs like this inspired my latest pack and also myself to get into shoegaze production.

"Your face" by Wisp - Just as the previous song inspired me to make shoe gaze so did this track. The entire production of this song is just one guy and it showed me how much a single producer really can do.

"Head like a hole" by Nine Inch Nails - I like the intensity of the song mixed with how Trent Reznor does drums utilizing drum machines.

"If we being real" by Yeat - The Drums and production on this album are different compared to other underground albums.

the Halo Infinite Multiplayer soundtrack - This Album introduced me to post rock opened my eyes to instrumentals.

"90210" by Travis Scott - The dark grittiness of the production on this track and the beat switch heavily influence my own production.

"Monster" by Destroy Lonely - The drums and melody are different than his usual music and the pockets for the drums are satisfying and different.

"How u feel?" by Destroy lonely - The dark guitars and room for the artist heavily inspired my latest loop pack

"Second Hand" by Don Toliver - I like how the melody is super simple combined with the vocal sample it gives a spacey vibe and influenced me to try and work with vocal samples more.

"I cant Lie" by Kee Nola - This song is the first big song to use my loops I like how the melody leaves rom for the artist to do his thing. It inspired my latest project because Im constantly referring back to my first song.

Bio:

1:  I had my music stolen for an entire 5 years! This was my introduction to the music industry, Losing years of work to someone I considered my Best friend for 13 years. For 5 years I had loops going to major names without MY name attached.

2: Major artists such as Don Toliver and Kali Uchis have heard my loops so have companies like FL Studio and LANDR. I have multiple placements my biggest being a song with an artist named Kee Nola. Ive also organized a now rescheduled music festival in Bakersfield, CA. Im currently working on a Loop pack called "Obsidian" that is 20 dark cinematic type loops.

3: My loops are like if Mike Dean started working with underground artists like Yeat and Destroy Lonely.

 Artist Organization Assignment

1: When it comes to music Im really interested in the back end which is why I chose to become a producer. Being more older now Ive been trying to move into more of an A&R role. This position would have me working with artists and teams more hands which I enjoy.

Working in my desired position would also allow me to move more into Artist Development which is another aspect I enjoy. This would entail helping the artist with everything they'd need to become their most successful. I see this as an obtainable goal In around 6 months.

Being more of a bedroom producer I think my long term goal in music is to be able to do my work from a private location. This would be done by using my connections to maintain work while isolated. Id also be able to do A&R work while living in my homestead.

2: I found an interesting article on hypebot.com about SoundCloud now becoming a direct to consumer platform. I find this interesting because Soundcloud has always been an artist first platform and this is just another win for artists on the site. Now artists can post songs and fans can purchase the tracks directly while Soundcloud takes 0% commission.

The reason SoundCloud is doing this is because of an already high demand in direct to consumer music. Soundcloud will be allowing artists to sell custom vinyl, integrate ticket sales, receive tips and more. This service is currently in beta but they hope to launch it fully in late fall.
